Columbia, Mo. – April 23, 2013 – FairCom, a database company that builds high-performance, engineering-level database technology, presented at the Veryant Dealers’ Summit this past week. The summit was a two-day program held April 18-19 at the Veryant headquarters in Piacenza, Italy. COBOL dealers located throughout Europe, including Israel, and the United States, attended the show.
Veryant President Massimo Bertoli announced that the partnership with FairCom has been extended with Veryant now providing a full SQL solution through FairCom’s c‑treeRTG COBOL Edition product line, instead of the client-oriented ODBC drivers. c‑treeRTG COBOL Edition will now be a featured product in Veryant’s sales distribution channels, as well as continue to be the database solution under Veryant’s flagship product isCOBOL.
Highlights of FairCom’s presentation to the dealers included a demonstration of c‑treeRTG COBOL Edition. The audience watched while a FairCom representative migrated a file from an AcuCOBOL program into c‑treeRTG COBOL Edition and then opened it up with the open-source SQL reporting solution: iReport, from JasperSoft—all without touching the data or the code itself and in a matter of minutes. Another highlight was FairCom’s discussion of its Replication Agent and how it can be used to keep data secure. FairCom also brought some of its new development directly from its research laboratory: a full-featured Backup Solution, running on a Network Attached Storage, that would allow COBOL customers to have a plug & play backup solution for their COBOL files.
Veryant and FairCom have been working together since 2005 on providing trusted technology to the COBOL market.
For more than 30 years, FairCom has built high-performance, engineering-level database technology that empowers developers to meet their specific data management requirements.
