FairCom EDGE features OPC UA support
Users can manage OPC UA data on the edge and replicate to a server
Note: c-treeEDGE became FairCom EDGE in November 2020.
FairCom’s recently released FairCom EDGE is full of features that provide organizations with the flexibility they need to manage data on the edge, making it ideal for implementation in Industry 4.0 deployments.

One of the new additions is support for Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture (OPC UA) – a standard communication protocol that ensures interoperability, security, connectivity and reliability for IIoT and edge computing devices and systems. OPC UA is the next-generation binary protocol from OPC that is designed for better performance, offers improved security and has a better SDK for integration.
FairCom EDGE V2 has an OPC UA client that can automatically persist data coming from OPC UA sources. Once the data enters FairCom EDGE, the database can automatically send it to other systems using protocols such as MQTT and database replication. FairCom EDGE also makes it easy for applications to process the data using SQL and for IT systems to extract, transform and load (ETL) data using ODBC and JDBC standard database interfaces.
This unique technology adds genuine business value to OT and IT shops because it greatly reduces the time, effort and technical expertise required to integrate OT with IT. This makes FairCom EDGE a great fit as an integration hub for IIoT manufacturing.
Detailed information about how to implement OPC UA using FairCom V2 is available at https://docs.faircom.com/doc/c-treeEDGE_DevelopmentGuide/77891.htm.
