Trends of 2015
As the year draws to a close, everyone likes to make their predictions for the future (see Evaldo’s blog at Dataversityfor his thoughts on 2015). We strongly believe that Big Data will be a reality for more and more companies. And we believe in the potential of NoSQL, the staying power of SQL, and the convergence of the two.
As Big Data matures from hype into real implementations in the coming year, we expect it to become more specific and targeted to company needs. As more companies adopt Big Data solutions in 2015, product offerings will become more mature and best practices will start to emerge. c‑treeACE integrates with many existing environments and scales up without sacrificing performance…making it an ideal Big Data solution.
NoSQL will continue to shake up the industry. With the amount of interest in NoSQL we are seeing, you can see why the traditional database companies are scrambling to add NoSQL offerings to their product lines. FairCom has always been about “Not only SQL.” You can see why NoSQL programmers are discovering FairCom with its native NoSQL core architecture.
The IT world is built around relational databases and SQL is still the lingua franca of the database industry. It would be foolish to ignore SQL just because NoSQL is getting so much press. Which is why we embrace an ANSI-standard SQL interface to our core NoSQL engine.
NoSQL + SQL
SQL and NoSQL will become the best of friends in the coming year with trends such as SQL database companies offering NoSQL products and NoSQL players attempting to offer more robust transaction processing. In 2015, we will see more companies incorporating both SQL and NoSQL elements into any database that is intended for mission-critical needs within the enterprise.
As FairCom customers know, we continue to stay ahead of the curve, offering a unique combination NoSQL + SQL. We have mastered the synergy of making SQL and NoSQL work together over the same data. We call our solution No+SQL.™
FairCom sees 2015 as a year of opportunity. For the team that has always been a little different from the monolithic behemoths of the industry, this will be the year we really start to stir things up. As you can see from this newsletter, we are working on many projects. We are planning to take our families of products to places only FairCom can take them. All this effort is aimed at making the best database for your needs.
Stay tuned throughout the year…it’s going to be a fun time.
