Get Moving with c-treeACE SQL Explorer
Note: c-treeEDGE became FairCom EDGE in October 2020.
Do you manage more than one c‑treeACE SQL Server? Did you know c‑treeACE SQL Explorer allows you to easily move data between c‑treeACE SQL databases? Not only can you move data between c‑treeACE SQL databases, you can import and convert data from Microsoft SQL Servers as well. With only a few clicks, you can manage all of your data regardless of where it resides.
SQL Explorer
c‑treeACE SQL Explorer provides an easy to use interface to import data from one server to another. This makes it easy to connect to a remote database and retrieve a copy of the data for testing, archiving, or other purposes.
Choose the “Convert/Import” tab to view these options. Provide the source server type and address, and SQL Explorer will list all available databases and associated tables. Move only the databases and tables you require. You can also import the associated views and synonyms. Any associated indexes and constraints will be created by default.
After importing data, you can then work on your copy of the data without impacting the original data on the source server.
Connecting to a c‑treeACE SQL server will bring the standard SQL Explorer connection dialog. Enter your credentials to authenticate and connect.
Microsoft SQL Server
Converting and importing data from MS SQL makes for easy transition from existing databases. Bring high performance c‑treeACE ISAM technology to your Microsoft SQL applications and enjoy the fast, compact, and economical c‑treeACE SQL database engine.
Simply choose Microsoft SQL Server as your source and provide the address of the server on your network. In most cases, Microsoft SQL Server will require authentication through the following dialog box. Enter your credentials to authenticate and connect.
Note: This feature requires c‑treeACE SQL V9.1.1 or later.
