As we conclude National Preparedness Month in the United States, FairCom would like to take a moment to raise awareness to this initiative. Its aim is to educate people in four areas of emergency preparedness: prevention, protection, response, and recovery efforts. Education in emergency preparedness is not a trivial concern in the United States. For example, a recent survey showed that 55 percent of families in the US do not have an emergency preparedness kit in their homes.
FairCom would like to share our appreciation for all of our partners that are in the business of keeping people safe. We would like to recognize Spillman Technologies, which is the leading source of law enforcement and safety software in the United States. Equally deserving recognition is Priority Dispatch which, among other emergency-related products, produces and distributes a medically-approved, unified system used to dispatch appropriate aid to medical emergencies. It is the work and dedication of companies like these that help keep people prepared for emergencies all 12 months of the year.
People are not the only ones who need to be prepared for an emergency situation. National Preparedness Month seeks also to educate businesses. Business disaster preparedness focuses on three steps: 1) Plan to Stay in Business; 2) Talk to Your People; and 3) Protect Your Investment.
An important concern that will need to be addressed in step 1 is, when mayhem strikes and everything goes down, how fast can the business get back up and running? If it’s using c‑treeACE, then it can rest assured. With Automatic Transaction Recovery it will have complete automatic recovery after system failures, and with live dynamic dumps you can always fall back to remote data backups for catastrophic events. Don’t forget c‑treeACE replication solutions to maintain live backups at nearly any remote location.
Wishing you and your company a safe and healthy autumn! And prepare to SCALE UP this fall!
