Survey Results

FairCom recently conducted an online survey of our customers to give us a more complete understanding of our customer base. The survey covered a broad range of topics including programming languages, c-tree Plus API’s, operational models, operating systems, and satisfaction measures.

Monitoring Your c-tree Server Performance

Monitoring the health of your c-tree Server is key to ensuring the best performance for your database applications. The c-tree Server V8.14 tracks and reports a wealth of performance-oriented statistics. The server's Performance Snapshot capability enables the capture of performance monitoring data using a combination of configuration file options and the SnapShot c-tree Plus API function.

Tips for Tuning c-treeSQL Queries

For certain queries, those involving sorting or joins, the c-treeSQL Server creates temporary tables which exist in memory and/or on disk, depending on the amount of data in the temporary table. The c-treeSQL Server provides options to help optimize these queries with regard to physical memory space available on the server. Specifying these options can greatly enhance performance when dealing with large result sets generating extremely large temporary tables.

How to Debug a Problem Without an Application or Data?

An unusual and hard to reproduce error has occured with your c-tree Server. Due to many constraints, you are unable to provide FairCom the application to reproduce the error condition. Nor are you able to provide data that may cause the error, as perhaps the data is real-time data and not reproducible. How should you proceed?
